H Apple σχεδιάζει να φέρει μια αποκλειστική λειτουργία AI των iPhone 16 στις συσκευές iPhone 15 Pro. Πιο συγκεκριμένα η Visual Intelligence αναμένεται να γίνει διαθέσιμη στα iPhone 15 Pro το επόμενο διάστημα σε μελλοντική ενημέρωση λογισμικού στις ΗΠΑ.
Παρόλο που το iPhone 15 Pro έλαβε το Apple Intelligence παράλληλα με τη σειρά iPhone 16, δεν είχε λάβει τη δυνατότητα Visual Intelligence. Η Apple επιβεβαίωσε επίσημα πλέον ότι σχεδιάζει να φέρει την Visual Intelligence στα iPhone 15 Pro και iPhone 15 Pro Max, με τη δυνατότητα να έρχεται πιθανώς με τη stable ενημέρωση στο iOS 18.4. Ο λόγος για τον οποίο η Visual Intelligence λείπει μέχρι στιγμής από τη σειρά iPhone 15 είναι λόγω της υλοποίησής της, η δυνατότητα μπορεί να ενεργοποιηθεί μόνο χρησιμοποιώντας το Camera Access button.
Δεδομένου ότι η σειρά iPhone 15 Pro δεν διαθέτει ένα τέτοιο κουμπί η δυνατότητα παρέμεινε αποκλειστικά στις σειρά iPhone 16. Αυτό αλλάζει με το iPhone 16E, το οποίο έρχεται με Visual Intelligence παρόλο που δεν διαθέτει το button αυτό στην κάμερα. Όπως αποδείχθηκε κατά την ανακοίνωση του iPhone 16E, η Visual Intelligence μπορεί να αντιστοιχιστεί στο Action button και να προστεθεί ως συντόμευση στο Κέντρο Ελέγχου. Σύμφωνα με σχετική αναφορά του Daring Fireball, οι δύο αυτές νέες μέθοδοι για την ενεργοποίηση του Visual Intelligence θα έρθουν στο iPhone 15 Pro και στο iPhone 15 Pro Max. Με αυτό το τρόπο θα επιτρέπεται στους χρήστες αυτών των συσκευών να δοκιμάσουν αυτήν την λειτουργία Apple Intelligence για πρώτη φορά.
Η Apple λέει ότι θα γίνει διαθέσιμη “σε μια μελλοντική ενημέρωση λογισμικού”, αλλά δεν αναφέρει πότε ακριβώς θα γίνει αυτό. H δυνατότητα Visual Intelligence μοιάζει πολύ με το Google Lens στο Android καθώς χρησιμοποιεί έναν συνδυασμό υπολογιστικής όρασης και τεχνητής νοημοσύνης, για να παρέχει γρήγορα λεπτομέρειες σχετικά με μέρη, φυτά και ζώα και να συνοψίζει ή να μεταφράζει κείμενο και να αναζητά στοιχεία στο Google, αξιοποιώντας τη κάμερα της συσκευής.
